Good job in trying to imitate the sentence. A big problem is though that you didn't recognize that "Man is born to live" is in the passive voice. The passive voice uses the third verb. bear, bore, born That's why you ran into trouble.
In your sentence, you are using active voice which changes the mood of the sentence. You could say something like this. "A student is called to study, not to play all the time." :)
